Just an observation, MBS Lynne, and I don't know if you are planning on being one of the organisers of the 'new' Sidmouth but, if you are, then please bear in mind that a huge part of being an organiser and stager of well-loved events is PR (that stands for public relations). You might want to consider a more conciliatory response to people who aren't immediately convinced that it will be their cup of tea than the yah boo sucks tone adopted above.

It's up to you of course, but as a marketing professional, I would suggest you bear it in mind. It does nothing for the uncertain masses and makes you sound unfriendly and unwelcoming (which I'm sure you aren't).

Much better to adopt something more along the lines of 'I'm sorry if you feel that way and hope you'll be back in the future...'

and I'm sure those trying to put this thing together and wanting all the good PR they can get would agree with me.
