Been there, done that. It can be very depressing. But in my case just when things looked very bleak a job came through - not the greatest job but the pay is decent and I'm getting back on my feet financially. You will get through this. It's hard to say "enjoy the time off" because you're worried and what money you've got you're afraid to spend - so that limits your activities). Gird yourself up and start looking for another job. You will find something. Meanwhile - know that you aren't alone - lots of us have been in your situation and have come out of it. That's why you're getting such a response to your post.
