Aha! Old Folkie...we go to the Scrag End Folk Club at the Shoulder of Mutton, Oakthorpe (just off the A42 in Leicestershire) every Sunday night. As well as that, we are hoping to start a new folk club in Ashby de la Zouch when we sort the details AND we are hoping to have a session (the first of many we hope) at the Turk's Head in Donisthorpe (next village to Oakthorpe) on 16th December. These should all have their own threads on Mudcat in the near future.
Scrag end has a guest night once a month, but the rest are singers and musicians in the bar..very friendly and informal though we do need more people! This week is the guest night and they are having Claret.
Barry....you should be in easy distance of all these things too!! Sorry to highjack the thread!
