from my brother in law's family comes a "festive" dessert - though they didn't restrict it to Christmas - Chocolate Bread Pudding with Hard Sauce. their version of hard sauce , butter, suger, whiskey - and regrigerated so it is actually hard. The chocolate bread pudding is made slightly on the bitter side - and served hot hot hot - so you get the contrast of soft,bitter, hot chocolate with the cold, hard, sweet.
