Just had to join in the fun on a boring afternoon here at work...

I can't believe nobody has yet put in a vote for Nick Cave. His singing voice has such an incredibly intimate quality, it always makes me feel as if he really is singing just for me. Added to that deep growly rasp he's got going on in there, it always makes me think of how a man sounds the morning after the night before. Yummy.

I will add a big "me, too!" for Alan Rickman's speaking voice. That man could talk me right into a... very cold shower.

As for female singers, you all don't know what you're missing if you haven't heard Belle du Berry. Playful, intimate, expressive, natural, utterly gorgeous voice. She sings for an absolutely fantastic Parisian swing/lounge band called Paris Combo. When I first bought a CD of theirs, my metalhead husband kept it in the player in his car for three months! Not that I could blame him.
