According to allmusic.com, FOUL OWL was written by Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman, and Quincy Jones. It is included on a double soundtrack album that covers both "In the Heat of the Night" and "They Call Me Mr. Tibbs," Beyond CD #578255, 2002; also Rykodisc CD #10712, 1998.
