There are two reasons people enjoy listening to a floor singer. It might be because they are good singers, or rather, good at putting a song across (not quite the same thing). The other is that they come up with interesting songs that other people haven't been singing.

In my experience most times people who aren't too good at the actual singing make up for it in their choice of song, and are well appreciated.
