Without a devil's advocate like "A Publisher", (don't mean to demonize), your personal experience with copyright law might not have landed in this thread, but now that the dialog is open on the subject, and we know how a publishing company might stand where they stand on their interpretion of copyright law, we can only continue the dialog by not representing opinions as legal truisms and avoiding misrepresentation of the law for an agenda.
