My old grandfather always claimed that it was the stuff that was put in the paper that made manufactured cigarettes burn faster, that was the problem. We were young and stupid and we believed him.

As kids we used to stare in wonder as he nodded off in his chair with a lit cigarette, that never managed to burn down to his mouth and a pile of ashes on his chest. He might have been right, he lived to 87, but I would put it down to blind luck.
