Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Wild Rover Again (from Roaring Jack)
Subject: Lyr Req: wild rover again
Back in the mid-80s, there was a Sydney, Australia-based Celtic rock band named "Roaring Jack", (not unlike a more political version of The Pogues), featuring Scottish-born singer-songwriter Alistair Hewlett.

I don't know how many albums they did, but the one I heard featured a song called "Wild Rover again".

The chorus went:
"Johnny, me man, come throw your leg over me, why do you lie with your face to the wall?
There's many's the time you've played the wild rover, tonight, you won't play the wild rover at all".

If anybody can either (a)provide me with the lyrics or (b) steer me towards them,i.e. the name of the album, I will be tremendously grateful.

P.S. I love Mudcat, ever since Ralph the Fiddler steered me toward it in 1999-2000, I have found it to be an extremely informative site and a powerful tool for my work.

God bless all of you, and please have a happy and peaceful Christmas, and a safe and prosperous New Year.
