Lotte Lenya was not named in the original lyrics--Louis Armstrong added them when he recorded his version of the song, and they've stuck ever since--Lenya was in the studio for the session, and, in one of the takes, they recorded the song as a duet--Pirate Jenny is in Three Penny Opera, The Alabama Song was in "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny"--

and she was "Mrs Weill"--and always much more of an artistic collaborator than a wife--She played Fraulein Schneider, who was the central character in the original Broadway version of Cabaret(but was eliminated in the movie)--
