In later years, Gargoyle, one of my housemates in East Lansing who was a biomedical major turned me on to lab alcohol, 200 proof! It would completely paralyze the tongue, the mouth, anything it came in contact with. We used to offer it to musicians who stayed at our house while performing at the Ten Pound Fiddle. Those with any brain cells left probably remember our hospitality.
