Never, ever, under any circumstances, marry a man because you're in love with his father. Even if he's a "Jr." Even if he shares a birthday with his father. I did that once a long time ago and in a country far away. He took after his mother (the two-faced bitch . . . and I don't use that term very often).

And I was young and brain-washed enough to stay married to him for 10 years. I refer to it as my "apprenticeship". And, I guess it was good experience. Tom and I managed to find each other and, as of Dec. 15, 2004, we've been together for24 years. Makes even that "apprenticeship" worthwhile -- maybe as fiction fodder.
