You are wonderful people ...... I've had this problem since I changed computers.
However, I've tried your suggestions but couldn't get them to work on my machine but while I was exploring all these new possibilities I decided to try TOOLS ... MERGE DOCUMENTS

This IS allowing me to change both my previous Works and Lotus files and open them in Word.
