Rapaire is not, and was not, on "vacation." Rapaire was in Salt Lake City, making what passes for whoopee there. He attended, last Saturday evening, a WONDERFUL FANTASTIC concert by THE CHIEFTAINS, including Carlos Nunez. He purchased ten (10) CDs within 24 hours, one by PP&M, one a collection of Tom Paxton, and the rest were Chieftains that he didn't already have. He and his wife traveled around SLC and from SLC to Boise listening to the Chieftains. He also visited Red Butte Gardens, the Utah Natural History Museum, had really terrific dinners (one Spanish -- tapas, in fact, and the other Japanese, which he can't get in Pocatello for some reason known but to God considering the historic prevelance of the Japanese-American community there). On Tuesday he attended a meeting of the Executive Board of the Idaho Library Association (he's the Conference Chair for the conference in Pocatello next October), and today he schmoozed with politicians at the State Capitol and yes, he did was his hands quite thoroughly after said schmoozing. Then he drove back to Pocatello. Rapaire has not been on "vacation." Rapaire was celebrating the MLK three-day weekend. And as a point of further information, he heard, quite literally, but THREE words of whats-his-name's noggeration speech. The drive from Boise to Pocatello was made in radio and audio silence, but the PP&M CD was ready to load.

Sincerely yours,

Purportedly Rapaire his own self.
