I'll amplify my previous post with a true story. When I was going through my divorce, I was a mess. At times, I thought I wasn't going to make it. One evening, when I really didn't feel like going out, I went to a mini folk festival anyway, just because I had promised some friends that I would meet them there. They had told me that some great folksinger named John McCutcheon would be there, but I didn't care -- until I heard him. He sang "Gone Gonna Rise Again," and I knew right then that I was going to make it. It's true that a song can save your mortal soul.
