In re: finding places to have Getaway -- don't VA and MD have state parks with various facilities? It wouldn't make sense for y'awl to use Texas State Park facilities, but mightn't there be something similar near you? 'Course, I'm new to the mix, and you may have already looked into that and had a good reason to discard the idea.

Any Texas Mudcat Getaway attendees: Should we join up to carpool or convoy? Might that be a plan? As I think about doing this I consider other personal "errands" I could deal with in/near D.C., so might go several days early. Alternatively, a train trip to Wash., then rent vehicle for G., then home on train -- might limit gas usage and driving stress. Party going up on train? I'm starting to obsess.
