I've been thinking a lot about this issue.

On the one hand you have the folks who want to buy products with no industrial chemicals, genetic modifications, etc. On the other you have people fighting for the rights of the poor. How does a poor person buy these expensive products. Not all the poor or infirm, etc. can live in the cool neighborhoods with the health-food stores.

Fortunately, some chains are selling organic products, but only in certain stores, usually in the middle- or upper-class neighborhoods.

I don't know if divisiveness (is that a word?) is being created in my own head, or if it's simply a matter of different priorities. But, for example, where do folk in developing countries get these special foods? I suppose the best answer would be to grow them the old-fashioned way, but that is only a small drop in the bucket.

Anyhow, I ramble, but those are my thoughts. ...
