found this on an antiques site, what use is wax spatula? it would melt!
Romano-British, copper alloy handle in the form of Minerva, probably 1st century AD. Possibly the handle to a wax spatula or similar implement, the figure is recognisable as Minerva due to a number of attributes. She is fully draped and wears a crested helmet. Her left arm is by her side and would have rested on a shield, which is missing, whilst her right arm is raised and would have held a spear, also missing. She is wearing a breast plate, or aegis, though in this instance it does not show the head of Medusa, as is normally the case.
