We are a bit of a drive from Thousand Oaks...say up to 30 minutes or so way (depending on traffic) if I recall from the couple of times we've driven there. Calabasas is perhaps 10 - 15 minutes away.

An "unbeatable" job offer brought us down here...so much for the "pact" of we'll stay in CA for 5 years then head back East again. LOL

As far as earthquakes go, I really need to get more prepared...ie have supplies handy, etc. Any helpful suggestions?
