Just found this out there:-

The Whelk Appreciation Society is not affiliated with the Lobster Liberation Front. WAS deals primarily with Gastropod Molluscs and does not concern itself with the 'mad world' of the crustacean.

WAS is an Appreciative Society and as such demands that it's members sample the delights of Marine Borne Snails. Accordingly, the liberation of such (whether Mollusc or Crustacean) is not part of our Mission Statement.
