And, as we welcome Mr. Dean to the party's leadership, let's remember that the majority of the country is more liberal or center than left. The radical left cannot elect a president, but the center-left (aka "the liberals") can. Liberal is an honorable term, and we should be no more willing to let the far left co-opt it than we are to allow the right to redefine it by assigning everything they hate to it.   Webster defines liberal as "tolerant of views differing from one's own, broad-minded; favoring reform or progress...favoring political reforms tending toward democracy and personal freedom." It sometimes seems to me that some "progressives" are about as broad-minded as many neo-cons.
