Martinmas is 11th November - that being the saints' day. There is often a little spell of good weather around this time, known as St Martin's summer, so called, to commemorate the burial procession at Tours, when the trees blossomed and the flowers bloomed.

Ellan Vannin tragedy occurred in December....

It looks like September is the least mentioned month..... not a lot seems to happen then....
