Our local "listener-supported public radio station" is KUT-fm. They have a locally produced-aired show on Saturdays starting at 10am. It did run all the way to 4pm with the same host. The duty alternated between Ed Miller, a Scot who sings all over, and Dave Oberman. Usually one of those 2, with occasional help from others -- such as Tom Pittman, a member of The Austin Lounge Lizards. Also there used to be another regular, Dan Foster. The show has recently been broken up. The usual hosts have it from 10 til 1pm, then the jazz guy does from 1 til 3pm, but using "folk" material from the station's library, I think. Then at 3 a different show called "Live Set" comes on, mostly directly from the KUT studios, with an hour of live performance from one artist or particular band. (Wide variety of musical genres) This latter show used to occur on Sunday evenings. Some of us are a bit ticked off about the changes. There are other days when the jazz guy has time, and he's knowledgeable and pleasant, but the Saturday show is the only local folk program.

And there's a (long-term) weekday host who also plays some of Mr. Barker's recordings. These are obviously people of great taste and perspicacity.             Tw
