Now that I have my sword
I am a gentleman.
Now I must keep my word
Rammelfratcher damn!

No more may I go peripatetic
So late into the night,
Though the heart be just as arrhythmic
And Barsoom be just as bright,

For my sword it has no sheath
(Tho' my heart's inside my breast)
For I've defeated the Knights Who Go "Neep!"
"Now I lay me down to rest."







I'm all choked up. I didn't know I could write poetry that good, that touching, that soul-rendering.
