Thanks, Joe. When I performed regularly I learned a whole slew of songs for special occasions, like 'the Man-eating Shark' for a sub-aqua club, The Man at the Nore' and 'Jenny Wren Bride' and 'Stripy and Blondie' for a PO's mess. Don't think I've heard them for 30 years. I didn't, of course, sing them in front of Cyril, and I did acknowledge that I learned them from him.
How to define 'Traditional' is a bit difficult, though, and a parody of a song that has a known author wouldn't qualify in my opinion. However, I will accept that your opinion, and anyones, is as valid as mine. Even a drunken rugby player's opinion.
