It is now being reported on the CBC that the virus from the kit was identified, because or an error by a BC lab worker, who contaminated a culture from a patient who had cancer, not influenza.

I heard, that the test kit virus sample was on the laminar flow bench where the technician was doing work with the BC patient's sample and the lab had initally ruled out contamination of the sample from the BC lab, because they didn't have a source of H2N2 virus, or so they thought.

Interesting that one of the countries where the virus was sent was Saudi Arabia.
