well, neked, pot bellied, bald headed banjo players aside - when I saw this thread I immediately remembered one of those quotes that hit me like a ton of bricks, and marked a turning point in my life. It was one of those statements that I knew immediately was correct, and probably hit me at a most teachable moment.

Paul Harvey used an ancient Greek (I think) quote, he said; "A radical" (and in those early 70's I considered myself a radical) "is someone who wants to change the world, becasue it's easier than changing himself." I knew (at least in my case) that this was the truth. Since that moment I've focused on changing myself. I've been happier, seen real, personal growth and know I've I had an impact on the world around me. After this notion hit me; I started singing "when will we ever learn?" as opposed to "when will they ever learn?" when singing Where have all the Flowers Gone?. I think it strengthens the message, and keeps me involved in the healing process!
