As I was a goin to the fair in a fie,
I spied a girls petticoat hanging to dry,
So I took off my trousers and hung 'em close by,
For to keep that girls petticoat warm.

The petticoat flapped and it made a loud noise,
It flounced and it fluttered, lost feminine poise,
And it wrapped round the legs of me old corduroys.......
