In what way? Obscurity doesn't make something important. Because it is in the oral tradition doesn't even make a song important. Especially songs like this, which are a dime a dozen.

But hey--if you can explain why this guy's collection of dirty ditties is so important to humanity that academics should spend their time and resources studying it, more power to ya. I remain unconvinced of the importance of anything he has posted either here or at his website.
