I do not necessarily feel it will be the biggest bucks who win-after all the developer has not been allowed to proceed with the retail outlet he wanted, so consensus is at work and the council is sympathetic. As a listed building they can do some fiddling but cannot destroy the way it looks from the outside at least. I would prefer its use was suitable for everyone in Beverley to enjoy. the Memorial Hall is not in the High Street but its hardly on the edge of town and certainly no greater distance from the Leisure centre at Folk Festival than the Playhouse was. Surely people havent lost the use of their legs completely?
