While all these events unfurled during the 20th Century, Ireland went into it's deep sleep and let the world pass it by. I can't say I blame them. Perhaps you should find the time to research your version of the truth. Approx 210,000 Irish volunteers fought in the First World War and a further 100,000 in the Second World War. Those numbers are for men who took up the fight. And the many, many Irish women who served as nurses in field hospitals have also been aknowledged.
