Sonnet 03/12/04                         CMLVIII

Can I find some gem to your eyes reflect,
To place around your neck, that it might touch
Where I long to caress? Can I expect
To kiss soft lips, or do I ask too much?
Shall I dream about you, and let thoughts trace
The curve of neck? You know I want to hold
My arms round inspiration: Shall I place
Hopes upon page, and let desires be told?
Might I weave you a crown of roses, white,
And all of thorns removed? You command all
Of dream, and of my heart. Might I share night
Looking at smile, and into your eyes fall?
You are my muse, and focus of desire:
Can I not dream of one who dreams inspire?
