Sonnet 16/1/05                         CMLXXI

I want my muse, to hold throughout the night,
To look in eyes, and taste her skin. I long
To touch, and run fingers through hair: How might
I realize this dream? Will fears be wrong?
I want my muse to want me, and desire
All I might give. I hope that she might see
Enough in me to some future inspire,
But should I hope to more than dreamer be?
I want my muse to know the joy I feel,
Having focus for care. What can I say
That would my dreaming share? Can dreams be real,
That she might, in time, in caring arms stay?
All of my wanting does not make it so:
But I must take this chance to longings show.
