Hi All,

My name's Bryant and I've posted a few times over the past 9 months or so. I just moved up to Portland from Albuquerque and finally managed to rent an apartment and get my life into some semblance of order.

Much as I like playing songs alone in my living room, I'm craving a little musical camaradarie and wondering if the are some M'catters in the Portland area who could suggest a song circle or maybe a bar or club that has an informal open session. I'm a solidly mediocre acoustic guitarist and can sing pretty well on a good night. My 'folk' music leanings are toward American country/blues stuff, both traditional, old time and the usual 60s early 70s Dylan, Grateful Dead, Neil Young kinds of things. (I'm not well-versed in Celtic or Irish music.)

Any suggestions are welcome. Of course, I'm not looking for too much detail on the internet -- but a chance to meet a few of you at a bar and exchange phone #s would be excellent.

(By the way -- I don't have a computer of my own so I'll have to check replies after my shift at work is over. So if I don't respond right away it doesn't mean I'm aloof -- it means I'm at home -- practicing.) :)
