Sonnet 06/04/05                         CMXCIV

Forgive me, muse, for staring, but you are
So beautiful. How can I not spend time
Looking at eyes? The circumstances bar
More than hug, but at least glance need not rhyme.
I do not want to let you go: I fear
It will be far too long before I see
My muse again so near. You are too dear
To find other than tears in your leaving me.
I know you must depart, but might I seize
This chance to thank you for the dreams you give?
Could I not try to find some way to please
The one who gives hopes the reasons to live?
I want what cannot be, but might you spend
Some future time letting me comfort lend?
