Sonnet 17/04/05                         CMXCV

I look into your eyes, and offer soul;
All I can give to show I care. I try
To earn a smile, to keep hope in dreams whole:
Yet I cannot concern for muse deny.
You are someone I value above heart:
My muse and friend. I worry when you frown,
And long to hold when I fear tears may start:
Yet, can I protect without holding down?
I would have you soar as you wish, and free
From other's obligations. Can I lend
My caring, to lift up, and let you see
How much you mean to one whose heart you mend?
Is there a reason I should stay away?
Can I not hope to share your dreams some day?
