Thread Name: Star Trek songs - seeking to license for songbook
Subject: RE: star trek
IMHO, the original Star Trek series was the best {well actually I haven't watched any other Star Trek series so what do I know?}

My favorite character from that series is Spock. But some folks here might appreciate this ode to 'Noble' Captain Kirk:

(Tune- Grand Old Duke of York)

The noble Captain Kirk, he had 500 men.
He beamed them up to the Enterprise,
And he beamed down again.
And when they're up, they're up,
And when they're down, they're down,
And when they're only halfway up,
They're nowhere to be found.

Also, I just found out that this song was in the DT:

ON THE GOOD SHIP ENTERPRISE
(Doris Robin and Karen Trimble)

On the good ship Enterprise
Every week there's a new surprise
Where the Romulans lurk
And the Klingons often go berserk;

Yes the good ship Enterprise
There's excitement anywhere it flies
Where tribbles play
And Nurse Chapel never gets her way.

See Captain Kirk standing on the bridge
Mr. Spock is at his side;
The weekly menace, ooh, ooh
It gets fried, scattered far and wide

It's the good ship Enterprise
Heading out where danger lies
And you'll live in dread
If you're wearing a shirt that's red.
