Point taken, but then maybe "Don't You Grieve" deserves a separate thread? I agree with Cohen that the secular song probably developed as a parody of spirituals, so to that extent they are related. But separate songs, yes. There's also Woody Guthrie's "Sally, Don't You Grieve".
