Sonnet 18/06/05                           MXII

Heart aches with longing for desired touch
Of muse upon my dreams. How can I feel
That I should not call to her? Are fears such,
To give reason to think hopes are not real
I want to hear her voice, but think I might
Learn of more tears I cannot kiss away.
Heart cannot stand not having chance to fight
What worries that might haunt my muse today.
Waiting upon unspoken words, I lose
Far more than truth might risk: I am not there
When she might need me. Could I hope she'll chose
One who by silence thinks to show his care?
And yet, what could I say to change my muse?
I fear I offer what she will refuse.
