Thread Name: Old Songs Festival 2005 review; HOT!
Subject: RE: Review: Old Songs: 2005 HOT!
I JUST got home this afternoon, and had to check in here with the mudcat family.

OLD SONGS!  What a great festival!! It was so good to see so many folks from last year's GETAWAY, and meet several new ones, too. I was so surprised that despite the numbers of people attending, I ran into someone I knew at every turn.  So many mini-reunions...all of which were WAY too short, but very much appreciated none-the-less.

So many wonderful performances, workshops, and jam sessions, it was difficult to choose......

I found myself having to move about in search of the occasional breeze, and it wasn't until Sunday that I discovered that stepping under a faucet every 30 minutes was a great way to beat the heat!

Georgeward, great words about the signer. I loved watching him and have great appreciation for the gift he brings to us all with the grace of his hands. Interpreting music on the spot is no easy task and demands incredible focus. He was fabulous.

We had to hit the road before the end of the concert on Sunday as we had many miles to go before we got to our next campsite where the temperatures continued in the high 90's. (as they did for the next several days.)

On the way home, I stopped in at Fiddle Tunes.   WOW!!   But that's another thread!!

Kendall, and Jacqui, it was WAY too short. We'll have to make up for lost time at the GETAWAY. Thanks for your kind hospitality at Mudcat International.

Karen K., it was great chatting with you. I hope to see you in the fall. Rita, it was too brief, but great to see your smiling face!   Allan C. and Carmen, Dick and Susan, and Susan A-R, great to see you again, too.

Don, it was so nice to meet you and Cynthia. Great to meet all you 'Chucks, too, and it was fun sharing some music with you!   Hollowfox , Animaterra, bbc, Sandy and Caroline, Maine Dog, I'm so glad to have met you and look forward to getting better acquainted next time.  Jeri! Great seeing you, too, even if it was just for a few minutes. I don't know what you do in the real world, Jeri, but I sure hope you're working on a book! It would be a top seller!

CARLY! I looked for you later and couldn't find you! What a delightful surprise to run into you at that workshop, though! We'll catch up at the GETAWAY, I hope.

What a great time! SIgh........
See you all down the road!!
