The Bodleian Library has a 19th c. song called "Ireland Blocks the Wat," sung to the tune "Vive la Compagnie."
During the American Civil War, it was the tune for the Confederate song (1861), "Chivalrous C. S. A." Francis D. Allan, 1874, "Allan's Lone Star ballads, A Collection of Southern Patriotic Songs Made During Confederate Times," Burt Franklin, NY. Also printed as a song sheet in Baltimore, Sept, 12, 1861 (signed B (?)
