Thread Name: BS: How Did You Meet Your Wife/Husband?
Subject: RE: BS: How Did You Meet Your Wife/Husband?
After weks and weeks of our eyes meeting across a busy folk club, and having already crossed each other at the entrance (when she said "hello"), I was still too shy. Eventually her gang of friends happened to include someone I knew and I used the pretext to approach and finally (after nearly driving her mad with frustration at my dithering) asked her out.

Or, to put it more poetically:

If you only could have seen her through my eyes
As she entered through the door
The room turned to paradise
For perfection always comes as a surprise
If you only could have seen her through my eyes.

If you only could have seen what I could see
You'd have climbed every mountain,
You'd have sailed every sea
You would know that there could be no compromise
If you only could have seen her through my eyes.

And as the time now passes
It gets stronger every year
And through thick and dusty glasses
I still see it bright and clear
How she touched my heart with just a single smile
And all my life till then became worthwhile.

If you only could have heard her with my ears
You'd have sworn that they were playing
The music of the spheres
Like Ulysses' sirens heard across the years
If you only could have heard her with my ears.

If you only could have heard her velvet voice
You'd have heard the angels singing
Every other just a noise
Like a mother's lullaby dissolving fears
If you only could have heard her with my ears.

And as the time now passes
It gets stronger every year
And through thick and dusty glasses
I still see it bright and clear
How she changed my life with just a sweet Hello
And there's nowhere, if she asked, I wouldn't go.

If you only could have felt her with my heart
You would know your life has ended
And new life about to start
And that nothing ever could keep you apart
If you only could have felt her with my heart.

And as the time now passes
It gets stronger every year
And through thick and dusty glasses
I still see it bright and clear
How her presence on that day cut like a knife
And for one more day with her I'd give my life.
