I have never carried a wallet in my left rear pocket; it used to go in the right rear but it threw my back out and made my bum sore, so I put it in front or in a jacket now.

Styles like this are the whim of a designer somewhere who may or may not be connected with real-world concerns; so there may be no reason "Why" except "Just....because!" :D
