Being a 'Mercun, all my pants/trousers ~ long and short, formal and informal ~ have two back pockets.

I use the left one for my wallet and the right for a comb. Also, keys in the left front pocket and change in the right front. If any pocket is empty ~ especially either of the left-side pockets ~ I am immediately conscious of it, and usually a bit nervous.
