Joe..... Never actually kissed by a cat, but on our honeymoon in Shrewsbury, I woke in the early hours to find it was raining in through the open window. I got out of bed to close it, and as I went back to bed, a rather sleepy voice said 'Brian, I think there is something on the bed!
When I checked, I found a black cat, which ,in the words of the song, implied 'I shall not be moved!'
Sheila was already fast asleep again, so I opened the botton of the window and slipped carefully between the covers ('ware claws!)
When I woke in the morning, the rain had stopped and the cat had left.
That evening, we were talking to the proprietor who told us something of the history of the hotel. It had originally been a hunting lodge on the English estate of the Scots Clan Macpherson, their coat of arms was still on the ceiling of the Ballroom.
I checked it out, It was a Mail Gauntlet with a cat sitting on it, Motto 'Touch not the cat but the glove'
I'm still not sure after 28 years that I wasn't haunted!
