                Lovely one, who has my soul in yours to hold,
                Of whose love I only wish a fraction.
                I'd trade, for but a breath, be I so bold,
                Such as I value, beneath comparison.

                Part of my heart is gone, now and forever,
                All of my thoughts are lost, only to you,
                Remembering only you, knowing that never,
                Recalling your love, again to take joy in love new.

                My heart is lost to you, O dearest friend;
                You alone control my words and thoughts.

                Lately, I wait, alone, for dreams to end,
                Only to onward dream, knowing that naught,
                Vain thoughts, can ever result of unshared love.
                Ever hoping, against my fate decreed above.
