Years ago in Chicago the sex industry made a series of attempted end runs around the massage parlor laws. Once there was an outbreak of ads for waterbed demonstrations; another time the ads were all for nude manicurists. There were others I can't remember right now. But perhaps the stupidist was a bunch of ads offering "hot nasties". I saw one storefront sign for that while walking on the near north side, and will admit to walking in out of curiousity.

The entry wall were hung with creepy prints that looked kind of like cubist lizards having sex. The girl at the counter was plain, with several pounds of makeup. I asked her what the deal really was. In a voice like a really rusty hinge squacking, she recited:

"For 10 bucks you can talk dirty to a girl; for 15 bucks you can talk dirty to a topless girl; for 20 bucks you can talk dirty to a naked girl; no f**king or s**king at any price."

I left with all the money I came in with.
