Well, just bac from my first Bridgnorth experience.
It was fantastic, just sorry that I didn't find it sooner. Will definitely be at Shrewsbury next year in the hope that the same friendly, easy-going people will all be there.
Have to pick out the music/song sessions run by Ian at the Hollyhead. These sessions were just so good; Ian was in control but in a real easy-going way. Eveyone got a chance and everyone got the same level of praise and encouragement (cunningly disguised as verbal abuse!!).
There were lots of instruments (I counted 11 different machines on one song - including oboe, tuba, guitar, citterne (I think), mandolin, flute, etc etc.....
But solo unaccompanied singers still got their fair share of floor time. It was brilliant.
So were the Shanty/Wilsons sessions, Show of Hands and Colvin-Quarmby. Where do you stop.
A brilliant festival.
Thank you.
