Czech luthiers are one of the great undiscovered treasures. People like Prucha, Krishot, Holoubek,Capek,Lebeda etc make truly wonderful mandolins, and many of them make guitars too. Stelling mandolins are made there. The country has a history of instrument making, esp. violins and cellos, and a huge stock of tonewoods. Get in quick while the prices are still at Eastern Bloc levels! I played a Lebeda resonator recently, and it was mindblowing.
